When the King is Evil is obviously a faith-based novel, but I didn’t want to limit it to one denomination or even one religion. So I didn’t use the words church or synagogue or mosque nor did I use Bible, Koran or Torah. Instead I used “assembly” and “the Writings”.
I did not want religious differences to be a stumbling block for readers and tried to give them freedom to interpret the meaning of “assembly” and “the Writings” in their spiritual context.
Regardless of the significant spiritual differences we may have, I believe the novel’s basic premise is a truth which most people of faith can relate to.
