This beloved farmer is a capable teacher, confident in his faith and able to share it well. He’s a vulnerable character, grieving the passing of his wife. This endears him to his friends, though. They are kind and compassionate. Avri feels protective of him, especially after Devin mistreats him.
Simon, however, remains willing to do whatever Elyon asks, even if it involves great physical risk. I love this about Simon. His great grief doesn’t interfere with his commitment to follow the Holy One.
